Welcome to Equality.fi!

Equality is a fundamental right. In a just society, everyone has equal opportunities in relation to access to education, employment and different services.

The Non-Discrimination Act prohibits discrimination on the basis of ethnic or national origin, citizenship, language, religion or conviction, opinion, disability, health, sexual orientation or any other personal trait. According to research on discrimination, each year more than half a million Finns consider themselves to have been discriminated against (European Commission 2008).

The Equality.fi website is a material bank for authorities, organisations and those interested in equality and non-discrimination. This website includes information on legislation, research and different minorities. You can also find training material and information on ongoing campaigns and events in Finland and the EU.
